On April 14, 2026, the “Women Entrepreneurs – A Developed Society” forum was held at the Semetey cinema hall in Kyzyl-Adyr village, Aitmatov District. The event aimed to expand women’s economic opportunities, promote local entrepreneurship, and support beneficiaries of the social contract programme.
The forum brought together women entrepreneurs, representatives of local authorities, businesses, and partner organizations. As part of the event, a local products exhibition and fair was organized, where participants showcased sewing products, handicrafts, food items, flower products, and other locally produced goods.
The key objectives of the forum were to promote women’s entrepreneurship, facilitate the exchange of practical experience, strengthen participants’ knowledge and skills, and create new opportunities for cooperation and market access. Participants attended presentations, master classes, consultations and experience-sharing sessions featuring successful business practices. Special attention was given to supporting women receiving state assistance through the social contract programme.
Deputy Head of the Aitmatov District State Administration Mira Seydikerimova stated: “Developing women’s entrepreneurship strengthens not only families, but also the economy of the entire district. We will continue creating new opportunities and providing support for women entrepreneurs. Today’s forum brings together women who have already received, or will receive this year, non-repayable state assistance under the Social Contract programme. This event also provides them with an opportunity to exchange experiences”.
During the forum, women entrepreneurs shared real success stories, including examples of developing sewing businesses and fruit-processing enterprises. The programme also included a presentation titled “Social Contract – First Steps” and the awarding of certificates to new beneficiaries of the 2026 programme.
The forum was organized within the framework of the Socio-Economic Development Programme of Aitmatov District, developed with the support of the EGED programme. Further activities are planned to continue supporting women’s entrepreneurship, strengthen women’s access to knowledge and support mechanisms, and create opportunities for sustainable local economic growth.
