Entrepreneurs and community representatives from the pilot jamoats of Kanibadam and Jabbor Rasulov District have completed a series of business planning and grant application training sessions under the project “Supporting Subnational Economic Growth and Improving Public Service Delivery in Tajikistan.” The trainings were delivered by the Public Organization Saodat in partnership with the Development Policy Institute (DPI) as part of the Effective Governance for Economic Development (EGED) Programme.

The training aimed to strengthen participants’ capacity to develop viable business proposals, compete for small grants, and implement initiatives that contribute to local economic growth and job creation. A total of 45 participants (24 women and 21 men) improved their skills in business planning, financial management, project budgeting, and investment planning.
As a result, participants prepared 17 draft grant applications focused on expanding small businesses, developing agricultural processing, increasing local production, and creating employment opportunities. The final pitching session enabled applicants to refine their proposals based on expert feedback before submission.
By equipping local entrepreneurs with practical business development skills and improving access to grant financing, the project is expected to stimulate private sector growth, strengthen local value chains, and support more inclusive and sustainable economic development in the pilot jamoats.
