More Than 15,000 People Across Tajikistan Promote Inclusive Employment

As part of the Effective Governance for Economic Development (EGED) Programme, ACTED implemented a nationwide awareness campaign to increase public knowledge of employment opportunities and social inclusion for vulnerable groups, including persons with disabilities.

The campaign was carried out in 14 target districts across all regions of Tajikistan, including the cities of Dushanbe, Khujand and Bokhtar, as well as the districts of Rudaki, Vahdat, Kulob, Panjakent, Istaravshan, Konibodom, Jabbor Rasulov, Spitamen, Farkhor, Shahritus and Qubodiyon. More than 15,000 people were reached through community meetings, television and radio programmes, media publications, information materials, job fairs, roundtable discussions and training seminars.

The activities were implemented in partnership with Employment Agencies, local authorities and civil society organizations. This collaboration improved public access to information on equal rights, public services and employment opportunities, while strengthening cooperation between government institutions and local communities.

On 29 October, a national closing event was held in Dushanbe with the participation of the Ministry of Labour, Migration and Employment of the Republic of Tajikistan. The event presented the campaign’s achievements, identified remaining challenges and discussed the next steps to promote a more inclusive labour market and expand opportunities for vulnerable groups.

The campaign contributed to fostering more inclusive attitudes toward persons with disabilities and other vulnerable populations, increasing public awareness of available support mechanisms, and promoting equal access to employment and social participation.

The activities were implemented with the financial support of the UK Government under the EGED Programme, implemented by ACTED in Tajikistan.
