On 18 January, Safina TV aired a special episode of the Davr talk show dedicated to productive employment. The programme was organised by the public organisation Homa with the support of the UK Government in Tajikistan under the Effective Governance for Economic Development (EGED) Programme, implemented by ACTED.
The programme aimed to promote an open dialogue on expanding opportunities for productive employment and discussing measures to increase the economic participation of the population, including people from vulnerable groups.
During the talk show, representatives of government institutions and experts discussed current national strategies and programmes while presenting practical recommendations for strengthening the labour market. Key proposals included improving vocational education and training to better meet labour market needs, expanding adult education opportunities, and creating more inclusive employment opportunities for persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups.
Initiatives such as this are expected to contribute to the development of a more inclusive and resilient employment system in Tajikistan. Strengthening dialogue among key stakeholders and implementing the proposed measures can help reduce unemployment, improve workforce skills, and create new opportunities for sustainable economic growth.
