The project “Increasing Public Awareness of the Targeted Social Assistance Mechanism and Expanding Access to These Services in Seven Jamoats of Rudaki District” is being implemented in Rudaki District.
One of the project’s key objectives is to increase public awareness of the Targeted Social Assistance (TSA) programme and improve people’s access to this important government social protection service.
During March and April, a series of community information sessions were organised across the seven target jamoats of Rudaki District: Rohati, Qiblai, Guliston, Chortepa, Choryakoron, Sarikishti, and Navobod. To date, more than 1,000 residents have participated in these events, receiving practical information on the Targeted Social Assistance programme, including eligibility criteria, application procedures, required documentation, and available support mechanisms.

The meetings are being conducted with the active support of the Rudaki District Administration (Hukumat), the District Social Protection Department, representatives of the target jamoats, and the State Agency for Social Protection. This collaborative approach not only helps improve public awareness but also strengthens cooperation between government institutions and local communities in promoting access to social protection services.
The information campaign will continue through the end of April, reaching residents in all seven target jamoats.
The project is implemented from January to April 2024 with financial support from the UK Government, in partnership with ACTED, under the Effective Governance for Economic Development (EGED) Programme, Component 2: Accountability.
