On 8 June 2023, a roundtable was held in Bokhtar to review the progress of the information campaign aimed at improving public access to information on the Targeted Social Assistance (TSA) programme in Khatlon Region.
The event brought together representatives of civil society organizations, government institutions, local authorities, and development partners to discuss the approaches used, the initial results achieved, and the next steps to strengthen public awareness of the TSA programme.
Eight civil society organizations from Khatlon Region are currently implementing community-based initiatives to improve access to reliable information on Targeted Social Assistance. The projects are supported by ACTED and coordinated by the NGO Jahon, in close cooperation with government institutions and local authorities.

Participants highlighted the importance of using multiple communication channels to reach vulnerable populations. Local media outlets, social media platforms, and a mobile application are being actively used to disseminate information about the programme, helping ensure that more eligible households are aware of their rights and available social support.
The roundtable provided an opportunity for project partners to exchange experiences, share good practices, and coordinate future efforts to make information on Targeted Social Assistance more accessible across the region.
This event was made possible through the financial support of the UK Government in Tajikistan under the Effective Governance for Economic Development (EGED) Programme, implemented by ACTED in partnership with the World Bank.
