On 30–31 May 2023, a two-day training seminar was held in Kulyab to strengthen the capacity of professionals involved in the implementation of the Targeted Social Assistance (TSA) system in Tajikistan.
The event was organized by the Committee of Parents of Children with Disabilities Public Organization as part of the project “Improving Access to Information on Targeted Social Assistance in Tajikistan”.
The seminar brought together representatives of the Kulyab Department of Social Protection, mahalla chairpersons, social sector professionals, representatives of jamoats, and other specialists working to support vulnerable population groups.
During the training, participants enhanced their knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework governing Targeted Social Assistance, reviewed the current TSA eligibility and application procedures, and discussed existing challenges and opportunities for improving the implementation of the national social protection policy.

Particular attention was given to strengthening interagency coordination, improving public awareness, and ensuring equal access to government social assistance for people in need.
Capacity-building activities of this kind contribute to strengthening the professional competencies of local specialists and improving the quality of information provided to the public on access to Targeted Social Assistance.
The event was conducted under the Effective Governance for Economic Development (EGED) Programme, implemented by ACTED in partnership with the World Bank Tajikistan, with financial support from the UK Government.
