Intersectoral Working Group on Promoting Entrepreneurship among Women, Youth, and Persons with Disabilities

On April 9, a meeting of the Intersectoral Working Group on Promoting Entrepreneurship among Women, Youth, and Persons with Disabilities was held at the Committee on Investments and State Property Management.

The session brought together representatives from government institutions, the private sector, and civil society. One of the key issues discussed was the recently adopted Law on Social Entrepreneurship. In particular, participants addressed the issue of the law’s further implementation, including the designation of a lead authority, the creation of a registry of social enterprises, and the development of additional regulatory mechanisms.

During the event, a presentation was delivered by Uktam Dzhumaev, an expert of the “Effective Governance for Economic Development” (EGED) programme. He shared the findings of his research on the economic benefits of social entrepreneurship and inclusive employment and outlined key steps for creating an enabling environment to foster the growth and promotion of social entrepreneurship.

This event was organised as part of the “Effective Governance for Economic Development” programme (EGED), supported by the UK in Tajikistan and implemented by Acted in Tajikistan.
