Data Accelerator trainings held in Tashkent on 9-11 February 2025
Modern Journalism Development Centre (MJDC) in partnership with Development Policy Institute (DPI) has conducted a three-day intensive training called “Data Accelerator: An Advanced Approach to Digital and Economic Journalism”
The objective of the training held on 9-11 February 2025 was to introduce participants to new approaches in modern economic analysis and data journalism, and to contribute to their professional growth. In total 28 participants learnt methods of collecting and analysing data, mastering visualization tools, use of open data and analytical tools for journalism.

The training programme resounding success, featuring thematic areas that participants showcased through their engaging pitch speeches of their projects on the final day. The three thematic topics covered were:
· Employment of People with Disabilities: Challenges and solutions
· State Finance Management Reform: Budget transparency and fund allocation
· Public Procurement Transparency: Understanding tender winners and conditions

The training is funded by the UK government’s regional program “Effective Governance for Economic Development” (EGED).
