From 21 to 23 October, a Third-Party Monitoring (TPM) training was held with the support of the UK Government in Tajikistan under the Effective Governance for Economic Development (EGED) Programme, implemented by ACTED. The training was organised by the public organisation Jahon<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The training aimed to strengthen the capacity of civil society organisations to carry out independent monitoring of the Targeted Social Assistance (TSA) programme. This contributes to improving the transparency, accountability, and effectiveness of social service delivery for the most vulnerable groups of the population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Representatives of civil society organisations from Sughd Region and the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region took part in the three-day training. Participants gained practical knowledge of key Third-Party Monitoring approaches, including data collection and analysis methods, conducting interviews and focus group discussions, and deepened their understanding of how the TSA programme is implemented. The practical component of the training included the development of project proposals for carrying out monitoring activities in the target districts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UK support through the EGED Programme helps strengthen the role of civil society in promoting accountability of public programmes. The knowledge and skills gained will enable participants to independently assess the quality of TSA implementation, identify barriers to accessing social assistance, and develop practical recommendations for improving the system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This initiative reflects the UK Government\u2019s commitment to promoting effective governance, strengthening the transparency and accountability of public institutions, and improving the quality of life of vulnerable people in Tajikistan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
