Tour for Experience Exchange: Local Development and Investments"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>From 15 to 18 April 2026, a study tour for representatives of local self-government bodies of the Kyrgyz Republic was organized to the cities of Shymkent and Turkestan in the Republic of Kazakhstan on the topic of local economic development and investment attraction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The visit was organized by the Development Policy Institute within the framework of the \u201cEffective Governance for Economic Development\u201d (EGED) Programme, financed by the Government of the United Kingdom, with the participation of the Partnership Programme \u201cFor the Development of Local Self-Government in the Kyrgyz Republic,\u201d implemented with the support of the Government of Switzerland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The purpose of the tour was to study Kazakhstan\u2019s successful experience in investment policy, entrepreneurship support, public-private partnerships, and tourism development for further application of best practices in Kyrgyzstan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex 100vw, 1140px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>During the visit, participants explored the following sites:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Shymkent:<ol><li>Shymkent Invest organization and the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs \u201cATAMEKEN\u201d in Shymkent \u2013 regional investment policy and investor support mechanisms.<\/li><\/ol><ol><li>Manufacturing enterprises: Bal Tekstil, Balabi Tekstil, Qazalpack, Eurocrystal, ASIA TRAFO, Alsera KZ.<\/li><\/ol>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Urban infrastructure and tourism sites: Citadel, Seitzhan Kari Mosque.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Turkestan:<ol><li>National Chamber of Entrepreneurs \u201cATAMEKEN\u201d in Turkestan Region \u2013 introduction to the region\u2019s investment potential.<\/li><\/ol><ol><li>Small industrial park and resident enterprises: BNK Irrigation, Aqniet Holding.<\/li><\/ol>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tourism attractions: Mausoleum, Altyn Samruk Museum, Flying Theatre, and other landmarks.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cWe expect this tour to contribute to strengthening interregional cooperation, expanding business ties, and enhancing the competencies of local government representatives in territorial economic development.
