On March 27, 2026, the Jeti-Oguz District of Issyk-Kul Region hosted the investment forum \u201cBusiness in the Region \u2013 2026\u201d, aimed at attracting investment, stimulating local economic development, and creating new jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was organized by the District State Administration in partnership with the Coordination Council, with technical support from the \u201cEffective Governance for Economic Development\u201d (EGED) Programme implemented by the Development Policy Institute, with financial support from the UK Government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The forum aimed to strengthen the district\u2019s investment attractiveness and facilitate the launch of concrete projects contributing to sustainable economic growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants were presented with the district\u2019s investment potential, socio-economic development results, and the video \u201cSeven Wonders of Jeti-Oguz District\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The forum resulted in the signing of 16 tripartite memorandums between the district administration, local self-government bodies, and investors\/implementing partners. The total declared investment volume reached nearly USD 600 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Projects are distributed across key sectors:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • 6 projects \u2013 tourism<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • 6 projects \u2013 fruit storage and processing<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • 2 projects \u2013 production (sand and gravel processing)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • 2 projects \u2013 agriculture<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    According to organizers, around 70% of projects already have identified investors, while the remaining projects are in the fundraising stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Ermek Bakhavadinov, Akim of Jeti-Oguz District, noted: \u201cToday\u2019s memorandums lay the foundation for large-scale transformation. We expect significant economic and social results that will directly improve people\u2019s quality of life and support the development of our territories\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The implementation of these projects is expected to deliver:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • increased household incomes<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • enhanced regional tourism potential<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • expansion of processing capacities<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • strengthened public-private dialogue and cooperation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Participants also emphasized the important role of the district administration in facilitating project implementation, particularly in supporting permitting processes and ensuring compliance with procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
